My Story

Hello! I’m Chanticlaire and thank you for visiting my site.

I’m a Musician and music educator who grew up in a family that loves literature, science fiction, fantasy, and storytelling.

I find delight in smaller things. Like a crow.

They’re curious and clever, but I think my songwriting brain is like a crow with some little trinket.  I hear an interesting piece of trivia, a part of a story, an unusual factoid, and I grab it and bring it back to my nest. I find inspiration in the margins.

I find that telling a story or communicating an idea in song form is like solving a puzzle.  

And like any enthusiastic enigmatologist, I get a lot of satisfaction in putting it together.
